There are several local specialists arranging birding trips in southern Portugal.

Some of our guests used Algarve Birders and recommended them to us. We got June to takes us for a walk at Ria Formosa starting from our property and really enjoyed it - we are happy to recommend them ourselves.

If you come here and find you need/forgot/lost binoculars, photographic equipment or similar, Niobo in Olhäo is your best bet. They speak English and German as well as Portuguese, and probably have the best selection in the country, and at reasonable prices. What they don’t have they can get.
