Olhão is a typical Algarve town with mostly Portuguese inhabitants. It has the best fish and seafood market of the Algarve.
The coastal towns of the Eastern Algarve (Faro, Olhão, Fuseta, Tavira, Vila Real, Castro Marim) are all within easy reach, and the hills of the Algarve (Serra do Caldeirão) with their wonderful spring flowers and spectacular sunsets lie just to the north, 10 minutes away.
Casa Flor de Sal is about 40 minutes by road from the Spanish border. The city of Seville is less than 2 hours away and the whole of Andalusia is within easy reach. Lisbon can be reached in two and a half hours by road.
